Ada Niedenthal       Artist
Fabric, Textiles and Mixed Media

Welcome to my Gallery on the Internet.

I am an artist who uses the medium of fabric and textiles to make art quilts.

It is my pleasure to share with you the art I make.

I’ve had an association with fiber, fabric, and art for as long as I can remember.  And, although I can't remember a time when I didn't draw or sew, I discovered art quilts about 15 years ago.

Now, I spend most of my time manipulating fabric and using surface design techniques to make fabric wall hangings called art quilts.

My textile art often features hand painted and hand dyed fabrics crafted by me in my studio.

Since I make art to communicate ideas and express feelings, my work can be characterized as abstract and expressive.

However, I was also a landscape architect for most of my professional life, so you should not be surprised to see forms and images from nature in many of my pieces.

My art is essentially my response to the events, ideas, and people that show up in my daily life.

I am always in various stages of production on new pieces.  Some I work on for years.

I rarely know what a piece is going to look like finished, until it is.

Enjoy the show.
